What is Solein?
Solein® is a food from nature, yet one that’s neither plant nor animal: it originates from a natural, non-modified, single-cell organism found in the Nordic nature, which is grown in a fermentation process that utilises air and electricity as its primary resources.
Solein is nutritionally rich and culinarily versatile in its uses. Thanks to its mild taste with just a note of umami, it vanishes into recipes, and it can replace existing proteins in virtually any food while letting those familiar flavors shine through. Solein can be used in a variety of dishes, for example in alternative dairy and meat, different snacks and beverages, noodles and pasta, or breads and spreads. It can also act as a nutritional booster.
A nutritional powerhouse
Solein is high in protein (approx. 80%), essential amino acids (43%) and BCAA (20%). It also provides a source of iron and Vitamin B12. Solein is non-GMO, lactose-free, gluten-free and animal-free and it doesn’t contain soy or major food allergens.
